Favorite Power Ballads #6 - "Ball and Chain"

In the 1980's, power ballads were all the rage, particularly with the hair metal bands, so I am celebrating power ballads with this particular series. We are at #6 in the countdown, with a guy who was not a hair metal guy, but he made a great power ballad anyway: "Ball and Chain" by Aldo Nova, who is making his first appearance in one of my music series'.
From his double platinum 1982 self-titled album, "Ball and Chain" certainly fits the power ballad criteria. It's slow, and has both the required keyboards and obligatory mid-song guitar solo.
As lovely as it is, "Ball and Chain" was not released as a single, despite being one of the strongest tunes on an album full of them, and remains one of Aldo Nova's more popular songs. Who knows what record companies are thinking, but in "Ball and Chain," they had a radio friendly song just waiting to be a hit. They dropped the ball with this one.

@teamfreak16 Yes they surely should have. It is most deserving..it is baffling why they did not.

I'm getting a lot of "I don't know this one" comments. They should have released it as a single.

His career was just a fantasy. As I frequently say, this is better than the "big hit," which I learned to hate after about three weeks of nonstop playing by radio stations.....

"Fantasy" certainly was overplayed. I still dig it, though.

His first two albums are really good. I didn't care much for Twitch, however.
