You don't know the difference

I know crafting is not that common in my generation since we have better things to do pass time. We go on the internet, drive around, hang out with each other, watch movies and tv. Just all sorts of stuff. So knitting, crocheting, painting, drawing, etc are all things that very few people actually do! When I am talking about my crochet dolls, people get really confused. They have no idea what crocheting actually is. How do you even explain it? I normally say it is a yarn craft kind of looks like knitting. Even though knitting and crocheting have a vast difference in difficulty. but most people know knitting so that is what i have to explain to them. It is just so interesting that things like crocheting, cross-stitching, even just basic sewing is not being taught to young people any more. i wasn't taught how to sew, crochet or whatever by anyone. I had to figure it all out by myself! And that is how most creators are taught these days is by self teaching. It just baffles me that people don't know the difference between knitting and crocheting...come on. one is more deadly than the other! All you gotta say haha!

That's a great hobby. My Mom taught me how to make beaded angels and I really enjoyed it! Stress reliever you know

Only yesterday I was remembering something that is not done anymore. I was taught poems when I was a child. And I know how to knit, how to crochet and how to embroider.

I was taught all of that stuff when I was little. I don't do any of it anymore. My mom taught my daughter and she does still do the knitting and crocheting. She says it is relaxing and I wish that other could learn it that have anxiety and such.

Crocheting is very relaxing, that is why I love doing it. and it is fun to advance to new stitches, I try to help people who need a little relaxing to try a new and fun art hobby.

I admire folks like you who are good with their hands. I have tried and tried and had teachers cry over my inability to knit, crochet, whatever. Younger folks would be wise to learn to not be so concentrated on their machines.

Crocheting is way easier than knitting haha but it does take a lot of practice. Even I still have slip ups, even my grandma still has slip ups haha! I love being able to crochet for a bit and look at my phone after I finished a row or whatever. It is like a little reward!

@DesirousDreamer I'm all thumbs and just can not get the knack of either crocheting or knitting. I sure admire folk's handiwork, though.

I hardly know the difference. But I crocheted in middle school, and my great-grandmother knitted. Lol
