Is reverse racism really a thing? I personally think it is not. Well, maybe, but not from people of color, but white people oppressing other white people. Then again, they do that to every color and sex. I know I am 40 and never have been discriminated by people of color. Had some good jokes about my whiteness, but was pretty accurate and funny indeed. Nothing to be offended about and never felt like some dude was standing over me with his boot on my throat. Of course, I have always treated people of color with the same respect, as to how I would want to be treated. Funny how that works. I think this argument needs to go out the window. Just a poor excuse to make people hate people who do not look like them, but maybe I am wrong. This is one of the few punk bands that have no problem telling you they are a bunch of lefty liberals, where most punk bands like to preach independent mindsets, even though you can tell most lean to the left. That being said, sure their lyrics will piss off many southerners about the civil war and how it was about the south trying to protect slavery. I imagine many will say it was about the south protecting their way to live how they want. Not having our government try to tell them how to live. I kind of think this band is right, it was about protecting slavery and the movie "Free State of Jones" opened up my eyes to that. Who knows how true it is, because it comes from the liberal elites of Hollywood. The problem is I think it is pretty accurate and a story that hardly ever gets told when they teach our history. Yep, was about money back then too. Slaves made white people rich and even many whites caught on and go, damn, we slaves to, not as bad, but these rebels are coming by our farms and stealing food from our children. Oh hell no, this we will not stand for.
