Who is your favorite author of books?

I like to read, but I prefer the movies. However, within the universe of books, I can not elect any writer as my favorite, but at the same time... I really like the way Stephen King writes. He is really good! Do you have a favorite one?

@TheInvisibleMan Actually I like several writers that I have never heard of before I read their books but cannot think off hand of their names. The only one I can think of that I really like is Faye Kellerman.

I used to like King, but the quality of his writing fell off in the later years. I have several I like to read like James Patterson, JD Robb, John Sanford, Patricia Cornwell. Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum and Clive Cussler.

I have a lot of favorite authors but two that stand out are Mario Puzo and Clive Cussler.

I don't read horror. It depends on the genre when I had a top five list. I read a bunch of genres.
