What do you prefer when you are sleeping - a pitch black room, a night light or a brighter light.

I do prefer a small night light when I sleep. I rarely sleep in a pitch dark room. My mom sleeps better if the room is completely dark. What do you prefer.

I used to like a night light but now I like the darkness and quiet of the room. Sometimes if I am feeling uneasy for some reason I may go back to a night light.

You could have a night lamp close to your bed so you can turn it on or off as needed.

I couldn't sleep with lights on. So I would always turn off the light in my room and I also have a thick curtain to block the light from the outside.

@pitstop Not 25 ,15.It seems in older times at night time with all lights and equipment switched off,it was difficult to measure the use of electricity for the light. So they named it zero watt light.

I cannot sleep when it is pitch black and have a horrible time with people who do especially when in a strange new place. I need light to help guide me to a restroom etc

I prefer night light, but most of the times i just leave the bathroom light on with half open door so the light won't directly hit me. ??

I like to sleep in the morning, the light is soothing while the dark works like caffeine to me. However, if I'm really tired, light doesn't matter at all.

Light or darkness, it dont matter. I need some noise in the background or a radio on.

I don't like a pitch black room. I like a little bit of light shining in from the hallway.

@pitstop I do until my husband comes to bed and then he shuts it most of the way and shuts the blinds which makes it pretty dark. Usually I am sound asleep by then though.

I cannot sleep in a pitch dark room - it cannot be bright either. I use a dim night light.

@pitstop It works for me pitstop. Funny how one gets used to a certain environment. Creatures of habit they say
