Pet Lovers in the House?

Before adopting this cute little terrier we have in the house, I have always hated animals. I have never done anything to hurt any of them, I just didn't really care for them. I mean, I felt like they are nothing but a bother but things took a turn when we had Zarek as he has become a friend, brother and protector who make hard things a whole lot easier just by him being around. The unconditional love he has given and showed truly amazes me. Never in my life have I thought I'd ever be a pet lover.
Any pet lovers here?

I've always been an animal lover since I was a kid. I think I was born to love them. I used to catch frogs as a kid, not to kiss them hoping they'd turn in to a prince! I just enjoyed doing that. I have had dogs all my life, except now. I have a cat now. I can't live without animals in my house. I had birds before, exotic ones. I had fish. I had hamsters, rabbits, turtles, etc. Yes, I really love animals.

@JeeyanDee I take after my mother. She was an animal lover too. It was my eldest brother and I who are really into animals. Now my so is the same too.

Hahaha. You're like my sister.Our house used to be like a zoo because we had birds, cats, rabbits and dogs beause of her. She really is an animal person and even brings stray kittens to our house back then. Despite that though, this is the first time that my heart has truly been captured.

I guess you would have to call me that.. I have 4 dogs now and 15 cats.
I couldn't wait to move out of my mother and step fathers house when I was an adult so that I could get my very own dog.. and I have never looked back.. I am on my 8th dog no in the 29 years since then. :) And I can not even list how many cats I have had.

we've had pets growing up. now just one dog. but yeah, i've heard of people that never had pets.

Well, they are a big responsibility and also, takes quite a lot of money to properly take care of them.

@sallypup Mini horse? Isn't that a little too costly to take care of? Hahaha. But I sure want one too! 5 hens? It's not for food, is it?

@JeeyanDee Mr. Chocolate, the mini horse, isn't too expensive. His big boy surgery was but that's done with. (When he was a stallion he was very, very naughty. He reared up at me and tried to seriously bite me and knock me down. I called the Vet!!!) The five hens lay eggs. We are vegetarians these days so they don't need to fear me.

@JeeyanDee Thanks for clarifying, I realized suddenly that I love cats more than dogs, since looking at that photo, I got attracted to those kittens more than to that funny puppy. (Guess I love them all, but I do have favoritism

Oh, why is that? My mom didn't want us to have one too but my siblings and I made sure that we will be responsible of him in everything
