One of favorite comedians In which I had the pleasure to see his motion pictures either in the former Canal Zone in Panama at the theater in Diablo Panama and on television in America Jerry Lewis passed away on Sunday at the age 91. The movie roles I will remember was the movie "The Disorderly Orderly" where he played the role of Jerome Littlefield who made his boss Doctor Jean Howard (Glenda Farrell) mad as a hornet when he messed up his assignments at a rest home. I remember Doctor Howard telling Jerome with a harsh tone in her voice "Don't try so hard." when he messed up his work as an orderly in a rest home. His other role I remember was the movie " The Sad Sack" where he played the role of Private Meredith C Bixby when one his sergeant Elmer Pulley (Gene Evans) said in a conversation "When I was a soldier in Panama." You should have my reaction when I read that line in the movie when I saw the movie on television in Metairie "Those were the days when we all had fun watching the canal for the U S government." Even though Jerry has passed away today, his body of work remains for all of us to enjoy for years to come.

I enjoyed Jerry's older movies since when I left the theater I felt better than I entered it.

Not everybody liked him, but the most appealing thing to me is that he was truly one of a kind. There was only one Jerry Lewis.

No comic genius will gain universal love when they are alive. Jerry was one of a kind a comic actor and director.

@velvet53 I liked the part when Jerry's thumb was on fire when he heard he was fired from his job at the hospital and he screamed loudly.

He will be missed. And I too enjoyed his movies. I really thought he was fundamentally a very good person and his efforts to get money for research for that dreaded disease Muscular Dystrophy was a milestone in his life.

That is why I admire Jerry and the late Danny Thomas because they cared for kids and adults without making a big deal about it.

And there is no one to replace him. All who follow pale in imitation.
