Lots of little errands turned today into quite a busy one. I had to get some cash from the bank and discovered I had a little more money in than I expected, so I decided to treat myself a little later in the day.
I paid some bills that come up on the 21t of every month and then called in the community centre to use their computers for my job searching.
I had to get some fresh bread in, and then it was treat myself time. I got an ice cream from a vendor in Preston city centre, and then called in a charity book shop. I treated myself to two cheap atlases- one just for the UK and Ireland, the other one is an up to date World Atlas. With so many new countries changing the map in Europe and Africa my previous atlas is very out of date. I always love looking at maps and charts, following routes and lines between towns, (even if I never go to them) etc.
There is a chance I might get to go to Dublin in 2019 for a convention so seeing the distance, routes and options for getting there was worth a look at in itself.
There is a beauty to printed maps that Google maps can never replace.

My nephew has always had a *thing* for maps. If we need to know how to get somewhere we used to be able to just call on him! He's eighteen now though so I think the map thing is hidden from his peers.
