Using Google Translate for homework

Google translate had became our "translator" since my son started schooling at age 6. Being a mom of English educated, I am an illustrated to Chinese language. Although I can speak and understand Chinese, I do not know how to read or write this ancient language. I had realized that Google Translate is a useful tool in order to translate any language to another language that you required. There are many countries of origin to choose from . Usually I needed Chinese Simplified to translate to English or Bahasa Malaysia. Then I could understand what the word meant, explain to my son in elaborate manner so that he could understand too. He does the Chinese writing or Hanyu Pinyin which Google Translate allows in the application. His teacher in charge was indeed surprised when I told her that I had used Google Translate ( She inquired whether my son had a tuition elsewhere because his exam results had improved ). Do you use any Google tools to aid in your work?
