Do you Remember...

I'm in my late 20s and I'm probably one of the few around my age (that I know) who LOVE to have conversations with older people (60+). In my opinion they seem to know some stuff that we young folks are clueless about. I love hearing their war stories or what they regret doing when they were younger or just to hear them talk about themselves when they were my age. When I'm out and I pass an old lady or gentleman I always find myself wondering what's their story? Now I assure you I'm not crazy. I don't just go up to random people and ask their story. Just the ones along my journey in life that I meet and have the time to chat with. Here's my question to you... What advice did your grandparents or parents give you that you remember best?

You're not crazy, because if you are, then that means I am too. I am drawn to them too because of all the things they can teach you, their life experiences and many more. I even find it easier to interact with them than those people my age.

Yes I agree with you. I try to convince my brother that he should try listening to them too he might learn a thing or two :-)

@sandcastles I guess it's not for everyone. Some find it awkward to engage them in a conversation.

I was like you when I was your age, my favorite thing to ask older people was their experience and where they were during the Japanese occupation of our country, guess I just love comparing them with stories my folks told me. I'm a believer that there is a child or a young person in each and everyone of us that is waiting to tell a story.

Thank you Louie! My dad tells me stories all the time and even though I heard it a billion times it just never gets old.
