Mexican Coke

A friend of mine is Mexican and he gave me few bottles of Mexican coke. I am not talking bout the Illegal Coke of the Colombian kind. I am talking about Coca Cola.
Mexican coke had more calories than coke because it has 10% more sugar but 10% is not that big of a difference. American Coke uses corn syrup as a sweetener while Mexican coke uses real cane sugar.
I am not really a soft drink fan but Mexican Coke is the best version of Coke I ever tasted. it is better than the coke from US ,Canada and the Philippines.
This May sound weird but I heard in Texas people like putting a handful salted peanuts on their Mexican Coke. I never tried it though since I want to try Mexican Coke on it's purest form.

I have a friend who grew up partly in Mexico. He left when he was ten. He loves Mexican coke and definitely says he can tell the difference! Me, I don't like Coke anyway so it doesn't matter. I do like Dr. Pepper, though!

I think one of the game changer aside from the taste is the container. American Coke is in plastic bottles and metal cans. Mexican coke is in glass bottles. I never had Dr. Pepper before. I may give it a try.

@CaptAlbertWhisker When I was little, American Coke and others came in glass bottles and we could turn them in for 5 cents a bottle. They reused them. Much better than throwing the container away the first time. I liked the feel of "gently used" bottles even though I didn't like the contents.

I've heard that it is very good but have never had the opportunity to try it. I heard about the peanut thing too.

I really dont know where in Canada I can find one. I only have bottles of it because I have a Mexican friend who goes home to Mexico to renew his Visa and decided to bring lots of Mexican Coke with him.

@Happy2BeMe It is more common in the US I think. Online stores is the only way we can have it. Asian stores is more common in Canada than Hispanic stores.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I am not sure. But I think here it is much more common to use sugar.

From what i heard Chinese coke is less acidic and more thinner. I am not sure what is the sweetener used though, Hong kong coke is said to be thicker and more acidic so I guess Hong Kong coke also uses corn syrup.Chinese might be using sugar.

i read that too somewhere online, but they referred to another central or south american country.
i also read about how the cokes from different bottling plants here in the phils also have different tastes.

Filipino coke is suppose to be real sugar too like the Mexican one but The Mexican one have better taste based from my experience. I can say though the Filipino one is better than the corn syrup flavored American coke.

@hereandthere American Coke tasted like battery....I am not kidding, it is so chemical tasting with the High fructose corn syrup they use.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I only drink carbonated water with a slice of lemon, I do not like soft drinks, they are all too sweet.

Jewish Coke is said to be the healthiest on because its sweetener is beet root. Soft drinks is definitely not a health drink, it is diabetes in a bottle.
