Get The Heck Out

As of 12:03 pm ET, Hurricane Irma is heading to Puerto Rico still at a category 5. I don't think it's suddenly gonna hang a right and go back out into the Atlantic. Don't wait until it hits the coast of Florida to try and get out. The roadways are gonna be bumper to bumper with traffic trying to head north and there won't be any gas, water or food available when it hits on Saturday. Not to mention the fact that the highways might be under water. Even if Irma dwindles to a 4 status, it will be devastating. Get out now with your kids and pets.

If we are told to evacuate we will. I have been seeing Florida might not get hit at all now, which will be great and that's what I'm hoping for!

@nanette64 And now they are saying we will see a Cat 1 here in Jacksonville. Glad we didn't leave and waste money we do not have to waste!

As of today they're saying it will still be a category 4 when it hits Miami and a 3 in the middle of the state @LovingMyBabies .

You're not kidding @LadyDuck . I wouldn't want to put up with the hassle of fighting over gas, water or supplies and trying to find a way out.

And it makes no sense @amadeo . With Florida being a low-lying state, the storm surge will be bad enough. Where do you go when all the highways are flooded.

I heard a report where they say new models show it might be off the coast of Florida - no direct hit. But one can't be sure, better too be safe than sorry.

They're already out of food, water, and gas. I hope they have left as ordered. The last projection I saw a little while ago showed it going straight up through Georgia, North and South Carolina.

Let hope everyone facing that risk, would evacuate being affected.
