Have I've told that we, Filipinos, is the country of basketball? We might be smaller in height but the passion of the game is taller than our height. Americans of NBA should thankful we are smaller people or else we could crashed in basketball court. Urm, back to my title, championship between two barangay is happening in my place, barangay Apatot and San Nicolas. Its a physical game, as always, between the two teams. Each team harrassing each other. Thanks goodness the referees are doing their job. The one who win the 4 quarters of game will be declare the champion in our inter-barangay basketball tournament.

Didn't know that your country favors basketball. Thought the whole world goes mad on football and only football.

@YrNemo, basketball is the famous sport for some men and women in the Philippines. We also have a Football team, for the senior, their team is called: THE VOLCANOES.They are so tall and huge and most of their fathers are foreigners. That is one nice result from cross-breeding .The Volcanoes will soon fight the " ALL BLACKS TEAM" from New Zealand. I would not miss to watch this soon.

@ilocosboy but does your country often win against other international teams? If the answer is yes, then that is real cool!

This is true, Filipinos do love basketball. You can see lots of mini court along the street here, some even make improvised rings if they cannot afford to buy real one, just to be able to play the game.

That's how we love this game. We have the "puso" and the famous NVD of Ginebra or Never Say Die. Anyway, can I asked where you from? In my city there are many Rodriguez also.

I like to watch basketball, I am a fan to this sport. Having that tournament let people gather happily for a common cause to enjoy and support their bet.

Its always a hit when basketball is happening in the barangay. Lots of people are really watching it. Though sometimes it ends up to provocation and trouble because of the nature of the game which is physicality.
