When i was left on hold when calling a company

Has any of you here faced that same problem before? In fact it pains a lot, when you apply for a job at a company, and they ask you to call them and you keep calling and they putting on hold to be redirected to some body and it is not picking. The most painful thing was that , that person was the final judge.
