Subtitles - Yes or No?

We watch some movies online or on the television on a daily basis. I figure that some of us are reliant or used to having subtitles. I find them useful sometimes. Do you believe that subtitles are necessary for movies or TV dramas?

Not necessary but I don't mind if there are subtitles.

Yes subtitles are necessary ,especially for films of languages we are not familiar with.When we understand only we can fully enjoy the film.

I have to have subtitle.I am hearing impaired and this is the best thing to happen for us.

@holdoors If I am watching a foreign movie or program I love to have subtitles. Also I like subtitles because if get stuck on a word I can read the English.

They are helpful, especially if you are not that familiar with different accents. But whenever I watch anything with subtitles i end up concentrating more on them instead.
