The theme of this particular music countdown was originally done by @FourWalls with her series of songs with a city in the title. For my series, we are at #3: "Hong Kong Garden" by Siouxsie and the Banshees. 1978's "Hong Kong Garden" was the debut single for Siouxsie and the Banshees (they ended up releasing 30 singles during their career.) The song is named after a Chinese Restaurant that Siouxsie frequented, with lyrics about the racist skinheads that would terrify the owners on a regular basis. The single reached #7 in the UK, and #10 in Ireland. The band would not have another Top 10 UK hit until 1983, when they released their cover of The Beatles' "Dear Prudence." "Hong Kong Garden" was not only the Banshees' first single, but Steve Lillywhite's first hit single as a producer as well. I know, Siouxsie and the Banshees making it into one of my music countdowns. Big shocker, right? What can I say, I love the Banshees! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

I saw them twice. Once in Germany, and at what is now The Fillmore on Colfax.

@teamfreak16 How much you think you spent on concerts. I say about 25 bucks 5 dollar cover door charges and what not for me. Other than that went to free concerts. Me be frugal or what some say Jewish. I make bad jokes.

@crossbones27 - It depends on the venue. I've watched acid jazz bands in little theaters for five to eight bucks. Circle Jerks charged $25.

Totally shocked to see them, too. As I say, there's a good reason these bands show up repeatedly, and that's because they literally strike a chord with someone.

I do tend to use certain bands over and over, but they fit the theme.
