Those following my daily diaries on here may have noticed that I pent a while writing up the very active Heritage Weekend event over several posts and then leapt to the more recent Saturday 16th September. These are the days in between, which were not without some highlights of their own. Diary – Monday 11th September 2017 I attended a basic training and communication skills workshop which was very useful with tomorrow’s radio interview looming. Back home I was thrilled when my new (second hand but new to me) webcam camera arrived. It had few instructions with it but it fired up as soon as I plugged it into my computer USB port anyway. Diary – Tuesday 12th September 2017 A busy day today starting with a pick up of the food package from the local community centre, which I took home quickly as I had to rush out again for a job interview organized by my welfare advisors. My attendance was mandatory. I arrived to find that the interviewers, from an agency, had decided to cancel. I wa told that they had attempted to phone me about the cancellation but neither my mobile or landline phone showed any evidence of any calls from them. I was given an application form for the agency to complete and return via my welfare officer – posting it directly wasn’t an option for me. I completed the form from home. Diary – Wednesday 13th September 2017 A busy day already, now rendered even busier by having to take the application form to my welfare team rather than just shoving it in a pot box. I was rather concerned that the unsealed letter (they want to add material to it) was open and easy for them to read after I left even though it is supposed to be private and confidential material for the attention of the agency. I now had to go to university to pick up leaflets to take to a local hospital radio tation who were interviewing me and a colleague about our part in October’s One In Four film festival, promoting movies relating to mental health issues. From the university I headed to the hospital to meet with my colleague and we were interviewed live on air for over an hour before recording a promotional jingle for the festival too. It was great fun. Diary – Thursday 14th September 2017 I attended a meeting for the film festival organizing team, to which my main contribution was summarizing the lovely radio interview events from yesterday. Back home I made my first Youtube film with my new Webcam camera. It looks OK. It was just a short introduction to me talking directly to camera at home. Diary – Friday 15th September 2017 After some job searching I got a little cash out and then attended the Friday afternoon talk event at the community centre. This was the first with a different speaker after my own six week talking schedule over the Summer. A lady called Liz was demonstrating some of the practical educational applications of the Internet. She showed us her knitting projects, a skill she learned entirely through free online tuition, along with her new book making / binding skills. She also brought in several little virtual reality headsets which were great fun to look at, and strangely reminiscent of the old Viewmaster projector tory and image toys I had in my childhood. Nice you got the new (used) webcam Arthur. Oh another radio interview coming up then good, was it okay? So good you can do those mental health interviews too. Thats typical those lot did not phone you liars. You would have seen the call otherwise. Oh me too, hate that about letters open like that.. I would like to see you speaking on YouTube.. Nice that lady with the knitty stuff and headsets too then.

It sounds like you had a productive few days. Having that workshop cancel without notice was unfortunate. The radio interview sounded very nice.
