My Granddaughter Carolina has had several big problems when she went to study in Spain not so long ago. First, her suitcase was not taken off the plane in Granada and she arrived with nothing to wear. The house she had rented by email was not what she wanted and she decided to look around for better lodgings. But the worst just happened: in this house with no keys in each bedroom someone stole her passport that included a special student visa. She has gone to the authorities, went later on to the Chilean consulate and finally to another official place in Madrid. She is doing all she can and doing it well. But she is alone in a strange country I´m glad though that she knows the language. Please pray or send good vibes that she will solve her problems. I talked today with my daughter and told her that should Carolina need anything, we could help her with money and even go to Spain if needed. Some problems have been solved though. The suitcase was found and she has it.

It is so very important that a person has a passport in another country.

I hope that she is able to get either her passport back or find a way to remedy the situation. Sad that someone stole her passport. At least she got her suitcase back but it can't be easy facing these problems alone

No. I have put money aside just in case one of us has to go there and help her out. Although she has done what she should do now.

I feel so bad for your daughter. I cannot imagine going through this. I hope whoever stole her passport tries to use it and gets caught and arrested!

@marguicha ......That's a long time to have to pay for your lodging, food, etc.

It seems that someone entered her room (no key) and stole it. She will have to stay there until a new passport is sent to her from Chile. The Consulate told her that it took 15 days. But I told Claudia that even if we had to help her with some money, she would have to find later on better lodgings.

That is terrible, the losing of her passport. I do hope whoever stole hers, is not going to use it for bad purposes. We have a few members who live in Spain ( @maggs224 @lovinangelsinstead21 ) , wonder if they could help your granddaughter anything?

So far she is doing what she has to do. As for stealing a passport, whoever does that can do it only for bad purposes
