Days ago, my husband and I cleaned out our messy shed. One thing I found that I will never part with was a box of old College letters that my friends at the time and I wrote and sent through the mail.
All of the letters are still in their envelopes and it amazes me how and I almost forgot, at the time during the 1980s, that is how we all communicated. We wrote letters and stamped them and sent through snail mail. It would take a couple of days to receive the letter and reply.
This was way before the days of quick emails and social media messengers.
It brings back fond memories. My how the times have changed!

It is great the new technology as far as time goes.
I do miss the old letter writing though too Anne.
Course, with a touch of arthritis in my hands, I am grateful for the emails.

I had a pen-pal in Houston, Texas during the mid-1960s. I loved rushing to open the mail-box, to see if I'd received a letter! I miss those days, also.

Yes, I had a pen pal that lived in England. I had joined a pen pal club and I picked his name because we shared same interests in shows we watched on TV, so it was fun to write letters about that.

I relish the letters I have managed to save. I had a letter my mom wrote to me when I was seven. She was in Florida for a conference, and she wrote me, and kissed it so it had an imprint of her lips. She is gone now, and I had cherished having it. However, I found out my sister went through storage, and threw it away. That hurt my heart.

I really wish I had kept some of my old letters. It would be nice to still have the ones my friends who were serving in Vietnam wrote to me, for one thing. I even had penpals off and on "back in the day."I can hardly read my handwriting anymore, just because I never use it. I love to get letters, but bringing myself to write them is another thing.

I prefer texts, or social media or handwritting. Because that takes too long and i hate my handwritting
