Breaking Stereotype " All Asians look the same"

The picture I embedded shows people from 4 different countries. These people are from different walks of life. I had been hearing some people saying "All Asians look the same" Some of the people I included in the pictures are mixed race but Asia is a very diverse region. In Cambodia there is an ethnic group where everyone have blond hair and they are not mixed race. China have a tribe where everyone have red hair like the boy in the picture. Actually China have different ethnic groups with very distinct features. Blue eyed and green eyed Mongolians exist. Ainu people of Japan looks Caucasian with their European looking nose, big blue, brown and green eyes but according to a DNA test they don't have Caucasian genes. Malaysia have the Andanamese people and Philippines have the Aitas. They are dark skinned people you can mistake for Africans. Even Asians of the same ethnic group have diversity on their appearances. We don't have the same face as the stereotype pushes. India is also very diverse not just in ethnicity but also in language and culture. Not all Asians look the same. ---

You simply mentioned "exceptions", but in reality all Asians look the same!!!!! Just kidding. I doubt there's one continent that contains people of one race/subrace only. Not even Antarctica. Different climates, biomes, cultures, invasions and migrations. That's pretty impossible. And nationality doesn't define a race either, not all Africans are black too.

@sabtraversa Most Canadians thinks I am Mexican and one of them ask me to teach them how to make tacos..... The national dish of Peruvians are Ceviche (It is like Sashimi, raw fish in citrus juice) and Cuy (pet lovers will hate me for this but I do eat roasted Guinea pigs.) Taco is not a Peruvian food, Many people assume all latinos eats taco.

I just met someone who asked me to teach her how to speak Mandarin. I decided to teach her Spanish instead.....LOL I am half Peruvian though.... I know in the US many Filipinos are mistaken for Latinos because of the brown skin and Spanish last names though. Speaking of Africans, These women are Africans:

@CaptAlbertWhisker Both Latin American countries and Philippines underwent Spanish invasion/colonization, so yes, I understand that. Latinos are often Iberic/Native mixed, and the latter were probably Asian (Siberian) folks that migrated into Alaska and spread till the south. But in your case, whether they say Pinoy or Latino, they aren't wrong, if I got it right. Yes, not all Africans are black, indeed! Well, the first two are probably European immigrants. The other two are Mediterranian, likely natives, because the coasts of North Africa are on that sea. The albino is simply a genetic mutation.

My Uncle thinks all white people are Americans. He thinks Oprah is African and he debated me for hours when I told him Lucy Liu is American. He once used the "Hey Joe" to a blond haired Iranian. The iranian got mad at him and told him he is not American. He never finished elementary though. ------ I just met someone who thinks All Asians speaks Chinese. The person asked me to teach her Mandarin and Karate..... (Face with 2 palms)

Did you ever see the movie Ghost Dog? The old man at the table (an old gangster) had said that African Americans, Native Americans, and Hispanics look all the same haha

Movies like that are not helping. I think what Hollywood needs to end is the annoying asexual nerd stereotype they give Asian males on the movies.

I'd say the same is true of all races - individuals rarely look alike.

I think according to a research a person at least have 7 look alike from around the world. So yeah to say a whole region have the same face is absurd. I think the stereotype happens because Hollywood always make Asian men look nerdy on movies. and Adaptations of fictions and real life evens with Asian lead characters are given to Caucasians.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Right Your Highness Emperor Albert Whisker, yes we come in all kinds of shapes and sizes and do not all look a like. At one time there were people that said we did. We have many Jewish immigrants here from many countries and different cultures living here in Israel. There are also Jews from the United States too and Australia here too.

If only I could learn their language, I wouldn't mind be mistaken by any other Asian language and culture. It's a perfect camouflage for me if they mistake you for some one else. Of course, it can also be insulting if they realize they mistook you for some one. If they think were all the same, it proves that we are one big brother hood of humans that has simply have many tribes.

Ah yes, as a European I do know this saying but we say something like "All Chinese look the same" or we do think of Japanese, Chinese and Korean people. They do seem to have a high potential of looking rather similar to us. I can imagine that in return, all Caucasians do seem to look similar *g*

White Americans tends to have a tan while Europeans have freckles and pinkies skin. that is the stereotype for white people in Asian perspective.

Most Southeast Asians have round eyes. Filipinos came from Malaysia and Indonesia after all. There is a region in China where people have red hair. No hair dyes, they were born with red hair.

I honestly don't think all Asians look the same. I think Asian people of the same race look the same SOMETIMES, if that makes sense. Like Japanese babies, I can't tell them apart by looking at pictures. I'm not being racist at all, I'm just saying like physically I can't tell them apart. My eyes don't work or something. But no, Asian's don't look the same.

It is reallt weird when those people mistakes a brown skinned Malaysian as someone from China. Then there is those people who assumes Koreans speaks Chinese. Those 2 language sounded completely different.
