How many of you have brothers and sisters? Are you at all alike?

I am asking this because this morning I was thinking of a book I am reading by Ken Folitt. It is a sequel to another book. There are two brothers in there and they are so different. One is not good looking but is so nice and knows how to treat people and especially women good. The other is good looking but a brute. I have one brother and one sister that I grew up with. My sister was good with business and picked that up from my father. My brother and I were not good with money, but, since I have lived in Israel I have to be better because it is very expensive to live here. I am nothing like my brother and sister. They are both retired from teaching and I went the Social Service route. They are not religious and I am. I got that from my grandfather. Everyone liked him. I am not that way. People either like me or don't. I never really worked in my field but I do like helping people. So, please tell me if you are like your brothers or brother and sister or sisters or like your parents or grandparents. I am also the only one living here in Israel and my brother and I do not sit on the same fence as far as politics goes. After living here in Israel I could not live anywhere else. I am a completely different person and could not go backwards and do not ever want to. I love this country.

I only have a younger brother, he is a Doctor and he is completely different from me. He is pretty selfish and do not care a lot about the others, even if he can looks funny to their friends. I am more private, bu sensible and ready to listen and help people around me.

@Hannihar He is specialized in vascular medicine, he takes care of his patients but I do not know how much he really cares about them. He is not a bad man, but pretty selfish.

@LadyDuck Anna, that is very hard to have a doctor like that. My doctor is a very nice person and I like him very much.

Anna, what kind of doctor is he? Does he care at all about his patients? You are a good person.

I had two brothers and a sister. I'm not anything like them. My late brother next to me in age and my sister were a lot alike. My brothers got along well together. I was the different one and the oldest. I differ with everyone in the family, including my late parents when it came to politics. I'm very religious, though I hate using that word as I have a relationship with my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. My younger brother does go to church and I think he shares the same relationship I do. I know my sister goes to church, but not often. My late brother was the same, he went to church, but not often. My sister and younger brother and very knowledgeable about money. I know what I need to and have learned how to budget my money. Especially now that I'm retired and on a fixed income. As for work, though I have a degree, I never worked in the field as it was overmanned, so I had to settle for minimum wage jobs. I'm glad to know you a little better. I would love to visit Israel one day.

@Hannihar It's a dream to do so, but not affordable at the moment. Families can be complex.

@just4him Valerie, it is nice to have dreams and I really truly hope you make it. Israel is not going anywhere and neither are we. I agree families can be complex.

Valerie, I understand completely what you said. I guess you could say I was the black sheep in my family. I was very curious about things and experimented in things. I am the only one that you could say followed my grandather's path in becoming religious. I am the only one that lives and belives in Israel and have changed so much. I am my own person and while growing up I went along with who to vote for and now I decide myself who I want. We have small groups that run in elections and since I do not like either candidate for Prime Minister I vote for the small party I believe in, but, they do not get in. My brother is 5 years older than me and we never really related to each other and still do not today. My sister is about two years and 8 months older than me and at one time I thought we were close but found out later that we were not. That is nice that you want to vist here. You should. It is a very beautiful country. Pretty soon we will have people that come to see their families for my last holiday at this time of year and tourists that come here around this time each year.

I have 1 brother, we are nothing alike, he is laid back and I call him the gentle giant. I'm the protector and will tell it like it is and speak up. Thinking now we do have a few things in common, both love reading and learning.

@vsai2008 SAI, one of your brothers is the strong slient type. I know about wearing my heart on my sleeve. I have found lately that I am very much a home body and love to be at home. I do not like to go out at night and do not like to be in crowds during the day. What do you get angry about?

@rubyriaz007 That is good. I guess I misunderstood because when you said she will tell people about their behavior. I knew someone once that when she got a present she did not like instead of accepting it and saying thank you she was not nice about it. I guess when someone tell someone what they think if they do not like their behavior I think they may be rude about it. Sorry that I misunderstood.
