I use to use the walk into the bookmobile in Oregon a lot and then moved to California. There isn't a walk into the bookmobile in this area and its because of money; however, that will be changing next year. I'm really excited to know over $110,000 has already been raised. The vehicle will be 29 feet will visit schools, community centers, parks and rural areas. Do you have a bookmobile in your area to check out books, CD's, and DVD's? Other great news is a new library in the county. Right now, there are 11 branches and several independents. How many libraries in your area?

I have never heard of a book mobile. We have lots of libraries, though. How does a book mobile differ from a library? This is interesting.

The book mobile is smaller then the library near me. I'm glad that people that are on farms will be able to get books.

@gnatsmom Yes and there are many people that can't travel to the library. I lived on a farm as a child and loved the bookmobile.

@Fishmomma So it makes books available to those in areas who don't have quick access to a library?

I loved the bookmobile when I was a child. I was there every Saturday morning for years. My sister and I were probably the most frequent visitors they had.

I loved weekends, as it was time for more books. Each book had a card, so you could see how many others had read it.

We do not have one. But every town has a library so don't need one.
