Do you usually got attracted with those items under promos? Do you quickly assumed it is still the same price in their cashier system? The reason I asked those questions is because I got so disappointed with some big grocery stores or supermarkets who put promo price tags at their displays but still gives you the regular price when you`re at the counter My husband tried to questioned them but the cashier responds was so disappointing because instead of correcting it..That person asked my husband to return the item and money back frowning and angry What do you think should that cashier must do when a customer just wanted to give them some awareness of those incorrect tags?

They MUST honor the tag that is showed on the shelves. It happened to me time by time, I make clear that I do not intend to go and I call the police if they do not honor the public price. This is the rule, they must respect.

@LadyDuck (109703) Yes I agree with you and by getting angry with the customer is unethical and unreasonable. If they don`t give any improvements more people will be victimized by false price tags which is similar with making people stupid

I have a very bad experience about wrong price tags. I and the boyfriend went shopping for Christmas presents, and we didn't know we have some items that are not on the price tags. So when we paid our bills, it was too much for what we have. So I ask the cashier what happen, then they told us about the wrong price tags. The boyfriend talked to the Supervisor, and we got the discounted price tags.

@JustBhem Wow! That Supervisor acted good but in my case, We tried to look for her Supervisor but they were not around so we just called them through their customer hotlines but didn`t see an improvement

@m_audrey6788 She was helpful because she didn't ask us anything anymore. She simply punched in the price tags and give us the discount. We are lucky.

Either they should give you your money back and you give them the item back or they should call a supervisor and the store should give the item to you at the price on it. I usually tell them to call the supervisor.

I would return the items promptly if they told me the price tags were wrong to what it should be. (Most often, they told me that it was their fault, and just let me having the discount after they went check the tag.)

I have experienced something like this before. But some of the stores here already post within the counter, cashier area that whenever there is a difference between the price tag and the machine, the machine price prevails, or something like that. But never experienced with the promo items though.

They are too lazy updating tag prices, nor changing the product before it expires. I once bought a milk. For some reason I check the expiration date and it was already expired. From then on I just check the expiration date..as for the prices I can always take it back when it's not the price that's in the tag.

Yup. It happens sometimes. Just two days ago, my sister and I went to buy some dresses and found out at the cashier that the price on one of the tags are incorrect. They reasoned that the price was not updated in their system.

@m_audrey6788 Nah. My sister didn't bought that dress. We we're disappointed at how intentionally they would deceive us. If we were not that vigilant in looking at the prices, they would get away with it.

This happens to Tesco all the time, you cannot trust the price tags or offers displayed on the shelf, I usually check with the price checker machine, located at the wall before i head to the cashier

@peachpurple Oh ok..Then, that cashier must immediately correct it before it goes out to others who might abuse it and will make her more miserable than someone who informed her nicely so she can do something about it

@m_audrey6788 yes, the cashier would blame it on the staff who didn't update the price tag, insisted the bar code scanner checked price is correct, either accept it or reject it

The cashier should not have been that rude. Does he know that the customer is always right? Maybe she had an issue with herself. She /he should have answered you politely and try to explain the issue at hand. Her/His attitude will drive customers away.

Yes, I experience it a few times. I hate it since I regard it as a kind of cheating. I will buy it especially because of attractive price. But when I pay for it, it is much more expensive and it is very embarrassing. Most of the time I will just cancel these products because I don't want to pay for wrong price.

@m_audrey6788 I have a thing about good customer service and I have been in your place many times. As I said I insist on the listed price. If I get an attitude I ask for the manager If I get nowhere there I write to the CEO and 99.9% of the time I get a satisfactory resolution with a promise to change things.
