He caught a BIG one!

My dog is no stranger when it comes to hunting a small mice. But this afternoon it was an achievement because He actually caught a big one. I didn't know but I heard some squishing sound and my dog went after it, next I witness him ripping it to shreds. He was playing with his newly killed prey. But I decided to take it away from him before it could give him infection. This proves that I don't need a cat..for now

Unfortunately, none of the street cats over here did their job @Hannihar

@Hannihar Well, if you feed the too much they won't get hungry enough to hunt.

@Letranknight2015 LK, that is too bad. I used to feed the street cats where I used to live. I do not know what they did or did not do, but, one time I was out and saw a rat climbing up a building once. I had a cat so no rats or mice came into our place.

Yep, people forget some dogs are very good at killing rodents also. How we solved our field mice problem. You are right that is a big guy and good boy.

@Letranknight2015 Yeah, My old alpha male German Shepherd loved hunting rodents and bunny rabbits. He was so good at catching them. The dogs I have now love hunting them, but not so good at catching them.

That's a nice trophy that your dog got. Good call about taking it away as it might lead to an infection and poisoning.

@Letranknight2015 They often stood there watching those mice running... like 'what the heck!' with a sort of puzzle look on their faces.

Your dog is an efficient hunter! Good thing he does not "offer" the big rat to you!

He kept on taking it everytime I moved it away from him @acelawrites I guess he wants a new toy or another dog to have playmate with.
