I updated my wife's Kindle and it made her very upset.

She was crying and very unhappy this afternoon because of what I tried to do to get her chart back to have access to her medical updates. Before the updates were made, her Silk browser continued to present an SSL protocol error message that prevented authenticating a session that made getting to her chart was blocked. But I had to get around this by deleting the Kindle cache. I only did this because of the fact that cache memory can sometimes cause problems if the cache is not cleared regularly. But it wasn't the deletion of cache that made things complicated but rather, the fact that the Hulu app and the Google app for Android were updated and required re-entering the username and password and at first it made us both think that OMG! all those favorites were lost, but no. they came back after it all got updated and hopefully I will sleep better tonight if i can manage this headache I just got. maybe a cup of coffee is in order. The thing I did was look to see if anything in her list of apps needed updating and some in fact required immediate updating. One such app was the HULU app. That app and the Google search app. Both updated in seconds but after I got her chart reader back up and running, those other 2 apps needed to be re-initiated as if they were starting from scratch, but after re-entering the username and password to both, they began to work perfectly, only in the interim I was in panic mode because my wife thought I had lost all of her place holders for favorite HULU episodes but in fact, after the updated version of that Hulu app finished all those place holders were in fact back as they had been in the earlier version. I was in panic mode because she got upset and after all that I had to take some deep breaths. Thankfully these apps worked but the way they look was just a bit different than before and that made it harder to adjust to the changes. Sometimes app updates, especially Kindle apps updates can ruin a perfectly normal day.

Updates just mess up a good day no matter what. The last update has seemed to screw up my laptop. So you are out of trouble now? lol

Not at the moment, but when my wife tells me, "I am enjoying my Home Makeovers on Hulu." - then I will be signing relief.

@lookatdesktop Right. I like my laptops there are things you can't do on a tablet especially a kindle that can be done on a laptop

The thing is, I bought 3 different models of Kindle, Kindle Fire HD & fire tablets. They all work a bit differenly. The old Kindle Fire HD7 was getting so old I was afraid the battery would die before I got her a replacement so I got her a Kindle Fire 7 and with added memory even in the color of blue, not black so she found out there were slight differences in the way things appeared and slight differences in the Silk Browser and so forth. If only I had bought her a laptop. A windows Surface or an HP with Windows 10. That way she would have a keyboard and the option to use touch screen and get used to using Windows because once you learn that, things get a bit easier all around. But she don't want a laptop, and is happy with her tablets. Oh well.

thanks, Gary, I am over it now. But today is a whole new day. Saturday. We will see what kind of crisis management issues I will face, hopefully none.

You must be nervous for quite a while. I've experienced such 'headaches' about updating APP. And now I am even afraid to update any APPs. Kind of updated panic.

Also, the thing is, I signed up for Hulu and Amazon but share it with my wife. She gets mad when the Kindle fire says Hello Anthony and not her. She thinks I want to own her apps and control what she is watching. I don't want to even use a Kindle. But she and I both have records of our Amazon and Hulu viewing history so whatever she watches I know about it and visa-versa. I did manage to get her new Kindle Fire in her name.
