Oct 1- Old tires

Recently, we had our car's front tires changed due to the "flowers" on the tires were worn out. It seemed that the "alignment" of the steering wheel had swerved to the right hand side, causing the tires becoming bald, almost showing the internal threads which is very dangerous to drivers. Anytime, the tires may burst while driving causing accidents. Hence, we decided to change the front tires to a new pair after we bought them online for a cheap price. Just went to the workshop , paid them for the labor fee of installing the new front tires but they were not willing to trade in for the old worn out tires. So, we had to bring them back. What do you do with the old tires that had worn out? Recycle centres do not accept it. Burning the tires is out of the idea, don't want to add woes to air pollution. So, any ideas? my photo: old tires

Do you usually get an alignment? Getting an alignment prolongs the tires life. Here you pay a recycling fee and the tire shop will deal with it.

@peachpurple yes you will also have to keep up the alignment maintenance throughout the span of the tires also.

@infatuatedbby sometimes hitting the puddles or road holes is a disaster to the tires

We have rubber recycling centers here so that won't be a problem. I see some people using old tires as planters.

I have seen some really cool ideas by searching on recycling used old tires. Most are for flowers, they paint the tire whatever color they want and then plant. I have some and told hubby I'm going to paint them and then he is going to hang them on the wooden fence and I'm going to plant flowers in them. We don't have any recycling place around here either. I think that it should be mandatory for them to be accepted thru the garbage and then recycled. Id be willing to pay a few bucks even.

I need a huge garden for putting the tires. But then when it rains, would the tires collect rain water and induce mosquito breeding?

It is not allowed to burn anything in the backyard. In nearby provinces, some of them put plants in it.

I'm not sure what to do with the old tires, because I keep changing my wheel so that I can assure that I can still sell my old tires with good price.. hehe

Close to our place, there are centres who employ people to spit thread from old tires and send the rubber for recycling.

Change it to a new car? We just sold one of our cars for a new one when the tires were almost worn out. We normally change to a brand new one every 5 or 6 years.

We bring them to any garage, they are obliged to take them back and to recycle. Do you have a recycling center where to bring polluting items?

you can make us pots of the plants. Paint it colorful and then fill with soil then plant with your ornamental or vegetable plants.

The other day I saw on Pin interest the ways you can use old tires to make different seats by just decorating them. They were beautiful. You can also use old tires to plant flowers. Go to pin-interest site and get to a place where they have 40 smart ways to use old tyres or pass me your email adress i can forward to you what they sent to me. They are very beautiful ideas.
