Eating out with your family

How often do you dine with your family outside? I was glancing at some pics in phone when I stumbled upon a couple of pictures with me, my husband and my two kids eating out in a nearby Japanese restaurant. I missed those days when we have ample money to spend for eating out and have family time. We normally do this at least one or twice a month. The good thing about dining out with family is you will have time to catch up with them and bond with them as you eat together. Where do you normally dine with your family and how often do you go out?

We had reduced eating out since the last economic crisis, we focused instead to making our own food copied from restaurants like sushis and different kinds of noodles. We still eat out but not as often and at times take out. It's a lot of savings especially I still have 2 kids in private school.

Now you're giving me the idea. That's nice! I normally copied the frappe (except the whipped cream, I can't copy it) but I haven't tried it with sushi and ramen. Probably I will just do it as well. Thanks for sharing me this idea. Aside from sushi and ramen, do you have other food that you copy instead of buying it out. That will really save you a lot of money indeed.

@louievill That's really nice! That's also one way to save money, too.

Not as often as I like but then again, I'm not a fan of eating out. I'd rather spend a quiet lunch/dinner with my family enjoying a good home-cooked meal.

@resy21curapika I learned by observing my grandparents while they cook in the kitchen. For a good length of time during my childhood, my favorite place to hang out at home is at the kitchen. Other recipes, I've learned online.

I really need to learn how to cook then. Is it really hard to learn? Did somebody teach you before or did you just learn it online or through a course?

We have recently had dinner at a seafood restaurant here. There wasn't any occasion actually but something to celebrate for my step daughter received a good news from work. We don't eat or dine out so much. We do only when there is especial occasion like birthdays or school events. Also, we do it when there is a nice budget.

I would probably need to adjust myself and the family in dining routines. That will give me more excuse in not dining out more often. I think that our family should do it on special occasions only.
