Day 48 Isaiah 54 54:1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, says the LORD. 2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes; 3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited. 4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. 5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. 6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, says thy God. 7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. 8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, says the LORD thy Redeemer. 9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. 10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, says the LORD that hath mercy on thee. 11 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors, and lay thy foundations with sapphires. 12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones. 13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. 14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. 15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake. 16 Behold, I have created the smith that blows the coals in the fire, and that brings forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy. 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, says the LORD. Are you looking for the light at the end of the tunnel? Are your troubles so overwhelming you don’t think there will ever be an end to them? When one trouble ends, another crisis comes your way and it seems like a never-ending battle to keep your head above water so you don’t sink beneath the waves of disaster. God told his people he would take care of them. He would come against their oppressors, and they would see all their troubles end. He told them that no weapon formed against them would prosper. As Christians, you know all your trouble comes from one place – Satan. His goal is to kill, steal, and destroy the lives of every person who claims Jesus as Savior and Lord, who follows hard after God and puts their trust in him. When you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ, the gates of hell will not prevail against you. Everything Satan tries to do against you will fail, because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. God is your protector and strength. He goes before you into battle. He defeats Satan and causes him to flee before you. When you put on the full armor of the Holy Spirit there is nothing Satan can do against you. God told his people it was time to break out in singing. It was time to stretch the tent curtains. It was time to take back the land Satan had stolen. God’s Word isn’t just for that time and place when Isaiah was prophet to his people. God’s Word and promises are for now, for all those who put their trust in him. It is time to take back what Satan stole from you. It’s time to take back your children, your spouse, your job, your home, your church. It’s time for God’s people of every ethnicity and nation to stand and tell Satan to get out of your lives. It’s time to link arms and voices and shout the glory of God from one end of heaven to the other. No weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. That is your heritage as servants of the LORD. Satan has been defeated, don’t let him rise up and cause trouble in your lives. Claim your heritage in Jesus Christ your Savior. Let’s pray: Father, I stand before you in the mighty name of Jesus, armed and ready to send Satan fleeing. Just as you told Joshua that every place his foot trod was his, so every place Satan has taken from me, I take back in the name of Jesus. Satan is defeated, not me. I trust in the name of Jesus, and God my Father. Go before me into this battle as you promised. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. We cannot expect to survive in this world if we do not put on the full armor of God for our protection - without it, we are lost.
