Just saw the awful news

It seems that every week there is some new disaster here in the United States. I just watched the news and saw the horrific fires in California. The last I saw was that 10 people were killed in them.
I don't know what is worse, drowning in the hurricanes or burning in a fire. It is so horrible and I pray that there will be no more tragedies like these.

Maybe it's time to stop reading or watching the news.

@ramapo17 That's why I don't watch tv anymore. I don't go to Facebook. When I'm on my computer, I'm just working or mylotting. The moment I get home, I don't turn on the tv, I open my laptop instead.
If I want to watch my favorite shows, I do it online so there'll be no news.

You are probably right but it is all around us and on television whenever we turn it on.

Yes, it is sad. I think I heard that over 1,000 people were evacuated from their homes, and a lot of homes have been burned. I can't imagine how devastating loosing your home and all your things would be. I live in California, and the sky was literally orange today.

Two words.
Climate
Change.
Horrible what is happening in our world right now. We can still do something about it but we have to start now.

I just found about about the fires in California after reading some of the discussions here. I hope things get better for the residents there.

I was scratching my head at first when I saw the news, because California was coming off of their wettest season on record, yet the news reporters kept talking about the extended drought as being the cause of those horrific fires. But then I realized that it was southern California that was inundated with rain this year, and that these horrific fires are in northern California.

I keep saying the end of the world is coming as there is so much going on lately.
