What did you think about Elton John getting "married"?

Personally it surprised me. It wasn't surprising that he is gay, of course. I just didn't realize he had a companion. In my mind, for some reason, I thought he was close to his lyricist Bernie Taupin, who by the way is a lyric genius. So, I was just wondering what your reaction was to the whole thing.
