judgement for single moms

October 10, 2017 5:56pm CST
I went out to the market today and I saw one of my moms old friend she saw me carrying my daughter and she said (in a very disapproving and loud way) " you already have a daughter? your not married right? you broke up with J*** last year, is that her daughter?! tsk tsk tsk. you are too young and irresponsible. How can you raise a child?! " this the first time I feel shame ever since my ex left me for a younger woman. I'm 27 by the way. I brought my daughter home played a video for er then cried in the bath room. this is the exact horror I don't want my daughter to face.. fer her to hear this words from people.

Some people cannot help from being nasty. My daughter Claudia (who looks a lot younger than her age) was taking Carolina for a stroll, many years ago. An old b**ch stopped her and told her how stupid she was to get in the family way so young and that her life would be ruined. Claudia replied that she was 24, a lawyer but even if she had been younger, it was not her business.

@averagejane Unfortunately, thereĀ“s no law that will keep them quiet. So, when your child is big enough, you will have to teach her to disregard those words.

@marguicha I just wish some people would just be sensitive when kids are around you know?

That was very rude and disrespectful. She had no right to talk that way to you. It is none of her business what you do in your life. Some people are just nasty and nosey. Sorry you had to deal with that.
