Former University of Vermont men's basketball coach Tom Brennan who coached the Vermont Catamounts from 1986-2005 will have a basketball court named in his honor. It is very unusual for a college basketball program to name a basketball court after one of their coaches since the renaming of basketball arenas are usually named for American corporations since the corporations get some free publicity having a sports arena named for them. The basketball court at the University of Vermont was named Patrick's Gymnasium before the new name will take place on December 11, 2017 when Siena College Saints come to Burlington Vermont.
