Looking Out My Backdoor

Today the song “Lookin’ Out My Backdoor” by Creedence Clearwater Revival came to mind. I don’t have a backdoor but I was looking out my kitchen window. From there I can see my garden and today it looked like it was still summer. It was such an odd feeling because even though I am glad that we are having unusually warm weather for northern Europe it was a sort of unreal feeling. Every year during the summer our garden ferns are in full bloom and by this time of the year they would have been all withered and gone already. Half of them are still green, the grass is green and if the wind didn’t blow off the occasional leaf from the trees I would think autumn hadn’t come yet. We have a pear tree which has a top branch that when it is covered by leaves it looks like the nodding head of a giant dragon. So the unusual lyrics of this particular song are quite appropriate because in my garden it looks like a completely different season and using my imagination I can imagine a lot. Do you have signs of autumn around you or are you in a different season?

A CCR classic. I imagine you looking out to your garden with sadness.

Sometimes the autumn passes us so quickly that the changes happen suddenly overnight and then the next thing you know is snow on the ground @JohnRoberts

I like CCR's music. No really identifiable seasons except very hot summers from June to September.

We are just getting more and more colors now. I have always loved that song.
