I don't like bar soap that turns gelatin like after use.

I found a nice pink bar of Camay soap in the bathroom that my wife put in a dish, half used from the bath and she told me it was one of her mother's favorites. I have a bar of Dial, orange colored that leaves a lot of orange residue on the soap dish and I just don't like the way it looks and I always have to wash it off with hot water and a nail brush to make it clean looking. The thing about soaps is they make some that turn gel-like when left wet on a soap dish in the bathroom on the counter. The Camay bar soaps are good because they don't get that way. They also have a nice fragrance that appeals to me. Simple things matter. Below is a review about Camay Pretty In Pink soaps from Mouthshut.com I give it 2 thumbs up:
Proctor and Gamble makes this pretty pink bar soap, Classic Camay Softly Scented Bath Bar. The soap comes in a pack of three bars that are 4.5 ounces each. Th

I do not like to use the bar of soap very much anymore, I have been using the liquid soap for awhile.

Well, in the shower it can slip out of hand all to easily then you might even step on it and slip and fall and get seriously hurt. Soap on a rope then was made for that reason and of course, shower gels. But for me, at the bathroom basin, bar soap is what I use. Even a good bar of Lava soap is good for those times when car grease gets hard to remove with just ordinary soap and water. Soap dispensers are good but bar soap is good for traveling as it keeps well in storage. And sometimes a soap pump dispense goes bad and you are stuck with a bad one. It's okay and I have used them as well.

I am using Dettol brand soap bars, have different fragrance but I love the cucumber fragrance most, mild and green.

I bet is smells wonderful. I like the smell of cucumbers too.
This cold process cucumber soap is a palm-free alternative to my original Cucumber Borage Soap. When creating this recipe, I started with my standard base of skin loving olive oil, plus a generous amount of coconut oil for great lather and hardness. (If yo

I use any kind of soap. I have always bought the cheapest and they have always satisfied me.

You probably got lucky. Sometimes the less expensive bar soaps work very well for people and I am like you, I like saving money any way I can.
Mrs. Pop runs an 6 month experiment on body wash vs. bar soap. As it turns out, bar soap is identical in quality but cheaper in price and Mr. Pop doesn't notice the change.

My mom was always a fan of Camay soap but I like shower gel these days and don't have to worry about the soapdish

It is one of my favorites and it is not that expensive either.
Economical and often sensual, solid soaps are being reimagined, with consumers showing increasing interest.

We haven't had Camay for years .... I used to really like the smell of it. I hate soap that goes all " gunky" once its been used so we only have liquid soap these days....from a nice pump bottle....no gunk !

When the pump stops working and you have to pour it all into a new one it really gets messy. Actually me myself, prefer either the squeeze bottle, rather than the pump or the old fashioned BAR SOAP. Do you remember that commercial You're not fully clean til your Zestfully clean? I bet Uncle Joe has. lol
Here's another commercial I'd act out in the bathtub as a kid. I'd smear bar soap on my fingers and try to outline my form on the shower door.

Camay is a very nice bar soap, while Dial is notorious, from drying out my skin:( I don't like its smell, either. My friend makes glycerin soap and I buy it every couple months. It's wonderful!

I know. I failed to mention it in my post but since you mentioned glycerin soap, I like it too. They put good fragrances in them, and they last long, but even some of these get gel-like at times. It must be the brands and what type of ingredients in them. I find glycerine based soaps available in lots of places and buy one on occasion.

@kobesbuddy , for me that might be hard to do. I would simply have to use the hair dryer to dry off the bar soap in the dish after use and that would be all too often. I will have to live with the fact that some bar soaps just get gelly like and a bit slimy and deal with it.

@lookatdesktop Most soaps have to be kept dry, to prevent them from melting.
