Want some views on portable AC

I have been looking for portable AC's in India and has been struggling to get one. I want to know your opinions on the same. Is it worth investing in it? How effective it is in comparison with normal window or split AC ? I need some genuine opinions.

Never hear of portable ACs. Have you tried checking at Croma/Big Bazaar or Reliance Digital stores? Or may be online on Amazon?
