Another incredible story from the terrible fires that have destroyed property in the Northern California region where a Pyrenees male dog named Odin survived the fires as well as the eight goats that he was guarding. Roland Handel had to leave his home during the late evening hours with his daughter, three dogs and two cats packed into his auto which left the property just in the nick of time. The Great Pyrenees pet was left behind guarding the eight goats for the entire evening when Roland returned to his home a day later finding his pet Odin and his eight goats safe and sound. Even though Roland lost his home to the fire, he is thankful that his eight goats and his pet dog Odin survived the fire. Roland has raised over $60,000 from YouCaring as of Tuesday, Odin only suffered the melting of his whiskers and a burned coat and limps on his right leg but I guess Someone Up There loves the dog and the goats.

That dog has the courage of a lion. Odin reminds me of my late mixed breed dog Prince.

Losing a home is one thing. Losing a pet or loved one is very painful.

@Deepizzaguy Yes, our pets soon become family members, in many instances.
