Speak in public is a challenge for you?

October 19, 2017 1:47pm CST
When you need to speak in public (to present some kind college or professional work, give some type of lecture, teach some class, to make a speech... among many other examples)... How well can you do it? Is it a type of skill that applies to you? Tell me about it.

I'm fine with it. It's ironic because I have anxiety but just not with that. I was the one who introduced the spring concert as a kindergartner, and my mom said I was confident and loud

What fun! We have our preschoolers put on little plays. They're hams.

That is great Craft Smart and happy for you but not everyone is confident to speak in front of lots of people.

Me too! It can become more like a conversation, which I enjoy.

Yes it is for me. I did take a speech class a decade ago in college.

Did it help you feel more comfortable in front of an audience?

@TheHorse I remember doing it in front of the class. It wasn't easy. But I did practice it. If I do make it as an author and go on book tours, I might have to practice my public speaking a bit more.

I don't like to speak in public, but I can handle myself alright when necessary. I used to perform in public too, singing often solos, but that ways years ago. I was also on my high school debate team too.

Of course it is a challenge for me. I don't feel comfortable to have a speech in public. But if I have to do it, I will try to overcome my weakness anyway and do it better. Today I understand actually we can still do many miracle things under a heavy pressure.

If I had to remember lines, I'd be scared. Our fifth grade rendition of A Christmas Carol was torture for me. I was Marley's Ghost. But as a teacher and a performer of music, I'm fine for some reason.

Small days were filled with me doing public speaking, I was always a brave kid. But in high school, I was bullied alot, and I dreaded public speaking. I once gave an announcement to the entire school and I threw up on stage, on the microphone. Wasn't a pretty site. Now that I think back, that was funny. But I still cannot give a public speech without being nervous. I would speak really loud. That way, people don't detect the nervousness in my voice.
