PayPal charged me because of an error

I just wanted to share my experience about my unusual withdrawal activity last week. My maiden name on my PayPal account is different from my married name on my BDO account. BDO is the bank of my account that I normally use. Paypal charged me $5 for the invalid transfer. It was then I realized that since PayPal is strict when it comes to bank transfers, I decided to use my BPI since that account would match the name in my PayPal account. The good thing about withdrawing using BPI is if in case card got lost, if you keep in mind of your account number, you can w/draw it over the counter at any BPI branch (that's what I did yesterday, my wallet got stolen along w/ cards and my IDs in it.) For those who's going to use BPI account in their PayPal account, yes you can. You can also get a BPI card for only php200. Just present one valid ID then don't forget to get the account number. Please and PLEASE make sure your account's name is the same as with your PayPal account. You don't want to have a php250 charge that happened to me because of name mismatch. That's what happened to me.

That $5 got taken out from my earnings at my part-time work. The total amount I got was $27. Php250 can buy so much, and yes, you are correct. It is almost a month earning here in myLot, too.

that is a big money on us, it would have been more acceptable when they deducted it with their usual $1

PayPal is strict in security.

That's true. But your money is indeed secure with them, too. There are some guidelines that I have overlooked recently which made me charge with a fee about it.

if i remember correctly, although bpi and bdo don't have annual fees, they deduct quite a steep amount every time you transfer money from paypal to bpi or bdo, in addition to the 50 pesos deduction for less than 7K. i just can't remember how much, if it's 150, 200 or 300.
