Is Gardening Only For Girls?

I was cleaning our garden, replanting some of the ornamental plants and weeding off the potted plants when someone told me: "Are you a gay, gardening is only for lady's." She said. Of course I'm not a gay. I have my lovely wife and five children plus one. How can I be a gay? Just because I love gardening does that mean I'm gay. And as far as I know, only few gay friends I have love gardening. So now I was really thinking if gardening is only a girls thing. That if you are a man you shouldn't do watering the garden plants, blooming the flowers, replanting the ornamental and placing them in the proper position. But I know lots of men love gardening.

That's a wrong thing she said. My cousin also loves gardening. Infact he does it better than my mother.

And I love gardening, its just these few people in our village have no interest in gardening and they told me its not a man's job. I just ignore them and continue my gardening.

No, of course gardening is not only for girls. What can have such a shallow thought? Gardening is a kind of interest and hobby and everybody can have it. It is nothing for girls only. Actually there are some very professional gardeners and they are males.

Yeah, I observed that too, but you know these guys in the rural village where men are doing the farming and the ladies are in the house, they never change.

I don't think it is just for women. Whoever said that is totally rude and thinks in strict gender rules that I think are outdated. Gardening can be related to farming, and there are tons of guys who are farmers.

if she's female and she said that to you, i guess it means there are things she also refuses to do or refuses to learn because she believes they're just for men. oh, well. but don't mind her. the only time it's her problem is if you're gardening on her property or if your plants or pets are destroying or making a mess on her property or shared/public property like your street. or maybe she's envious because you're able to grow beautiful brilliant flowers like that one! what is it called?
