My nephew raises pedigree Saanen goats and judges at some of our national shows. He has recently gone into miniature goats and I’ve added a photo of two of his foundation stock. Aren’t they just the cutest things? They look like ‘real’ goats but with very short legs.
He tells me there are three ‘types’ of tiny goats: pygmy, Nigerian dwarf and miniature. I’m not sure of the differences between them but whatever the ones shown are, I think they look pretty cute.
We saw quite a few on our travels thorugh France but again I don’t know the differences between the types. When I find out, I’ll do another discussion with some cute photos of tiny goats.

I agree that goats are the best. Maybe I could mind your flock next time.

I thought they were too. And you should see the babies! Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of the kids.

What struck me about the photo is how dignified the goats look. It is like they know they are posing for a picture and trying to show their best side

oh my they are so beautiful, how I wish I can acquire them and be our pets. We have 1 goat but planning to acquire more through local raisers.

I guess in the beginning it was evolution - scarity of food and water would have kept them small. Specialised breeding comes later (line-breeding, in-breeding) but that can cause weaknesses if care is not taken.
