So many people all over the world say that China is a autocratic country and there isn't freedom for citizens. BUT as a Chinese, I feel that's all right, and I feel free and I can do everything I want as long as I am able . Whether you have been to China or not ever before, can you deliver your point?

I think it is the image of tiannamen square incident that comes to the mind of people. However , in the recent past China has made a lot of progress both economically and is leaning towards democracy .

that incident was a old story, already. and i know that was a spot for the Communist Party. but sometimes i will think about that if i was the power-holder what would i do? maybe i would do the same things to guarantee the country's stability. and now, i don't feel any limit in my common life, i can do what i want and say what i want, maybe it's unmaginable in the past.

@404NotFound Good to hear that because China is one of the super powers today and many smaller developing nations from Asia look up to them.

@kiran8 yes, every country should put away their prejudices and draw together to develop our own country.

Let's talk about families and children. At present what is the freedom in China for having them?

i know canada is a country needing people, but not us. actually,we must control the population or our country will be knocked out from the world as well as our lives, and the children will not receive enough education, the old men depend on no one, our income will be reduced and lots of social problems will occur. you are not in this situation ,you will never know what a large population means what. but as the time past by, more and more people don't want to raise too many chiidren.as for me, I think no more than two children is perfect.

Sorry@404NotFound What you wrote is true. I didn't mean this as it is a difference in population. I was not thinking of what Chinese government is looking at is either right or wrong, good or bad. The question is not for this. It was not a question to be mean. If in an individual makes a decision to limit family size this is fine. If a government makes a decision to limit family size this may be fine too but does that not make government less democratic by limiting individual freedom? I am not too sure how China makes people not to have too many children. Can you tell me how in simple words? If someone has the means to have a large family and wants to can they? We are talking about freedom of choice. All countries do limit some freedom or influence their people around families.

@Bluedoll if somebody in China wants to have more than 2 children,I'm sorry,he can't.it's illegal now. how the china makes people not to have too many children? well, depend on coercive measure. if someone break the law, they will be fined and put in the jail. maybe it's imaginable for you, but it happened here indeed. freedom is relative all the time. you know, in ancient time, china was a real antocratic country. and the truth of society is that only after solving the problem of substance can we have space to think about freedom and democracy. in the past, we sufferde hungry, cold and so many problem. until now ,we still the biggest developing country on the world. but in the past 10-20 years, we had more space to consider freedom. however, Rome was not built in a day. the way to freedom or to be a developed country needs time. now we are on the way. every country has its own naitonal condition. maybe this policy has its limited, but maybe it's reasonable. now one-child policy period is over. in the future we can see, we will open the policy gradually. if my utterance before is in a wrong way, I am sorry about that.
