WOULD YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THESE THINGS?

For hygienic reasons there are some thing I would never feel comfortable doing , so here are some of those things that I do not do. (1) Soak in a bathtub that isn't mine - e.g. - hotel or at a friend's house. (2) Use someone else's toothbrush - well, I might if it belongs to my husband - but I would prefer not to. (3) Use a friend's hairbrush, lipstick, face powder, eyeliner or eyeshadow. (4) If I must use a public restroom , I use my own tissue - I also cover the taps with a piece of tissue when turning them on and off. (5) When I get home after a day or some hours out ,I change my clothes before sitting on my bed, sofa or chair - especially if public transport was used. Those are some of my habits - what are yours?

1. NO 2. No freaking way! 3. Hairbrush but not make-up 4. I use their tissue but I do not sit on the toilet. 5. I also change out of my clothes when I come home, to more comfortable wear but mostly because I am in work clothes or dress clothes. My number one habit is not eating or drinking after anyone and I wash my hands a lot

I heard about a church where everyone drinks from the same communion cup. I don't think that is a very hygienic practice

@Kandae11 I don't like that either. We have one communion cup, but each person dips the piece of bread into the cup.

It sounds as if you may have a mild case of OCD . So if you were away from home for a while you'd stay dirty rather than use a hotel bath?

In my post I said "soaking in a tub" - that's different from taking a shower.

this is not for me.Some people go way overboard on this.I would not worry about it. If you wash your hand thoroughly should be fine.Beside I do not do all the things that you suggest. I am very clean .I never change my clothes coming home.No need to.

I admit, I may be a bit fussy about certain things - but that's probably one of the reasons why I never get colds.

I change clothes when I get home, but just to get comfy since I was in my own car. I could never use someone else's toothbrush...gross. I love kissing my husband, but I won't drink out of the same straw in a cup. I don't sit down on hotel bed spreads and I always put down clean tissue on toilet seats.I wash my hands quite often also.

I would do that also. If I have no sanitizer - I would put tissue on the toilet seat.

I do pretty much the same as you on all you have listed. I avoid using public washrooms if at all possible. Also when u have to go the the hospital I am constantly using hand sanitizers all the time I am there.

Bathtub ... Might at a Hotel if it was a fancier one. No on Toothbrush. Grouse even thinking about it Public restroom... Depends on where I am at. Some places I try to hold it if I can until I can find somewhere else better. Clothes... I am not picky unless I know I have been somewhere where I got mine extremely dirty, or when I come home from church with some of my good clothes on.

In a fancier hotel, I suppose I could sanitize the bathtub before I use it.

You have listed out important things which one should follow so as to avoid anything untoward. (i) I am not clear why would you not use bathtub in a hotel? If you are so concern, you could clean it yourself with sprinkle of water. (ii) Using someone's toothbrush is strict no no for me too, irrespective of the fact whether it belongs to my spouse. In case of emergency I would use my index finger to clean my teeth. (iii) I also would use these items, which are not mine. (iv) Though, it sounds a good idea, but sometimes practically it is not possible. For those occasions, I carry a small bottle of sensitizer with me, which I use after using public taps. (v) On reaching home, first of all I change my clothes and footwear.

@Kandae11 It seems that you are very particular about not using bath tub, which is used by others. You could avoid it and stick to taking shower. Your own physiological satisfaction is important.

About the bathtub - a sprinkle of water wouldn't do the job. - I would need bleach or some other kind of disinfectant. I think it is partly psychological, I would feel more vulnerable in a bathtub than I would standing under a shower.

I am with you on those listed. I have been on several holidays staying in hotels with bath tubs. I ask for a bucket and a mug so that I have a bath that way (lol). I will place newspapers on toilet seats before using them. I take my own disinfectant too. I will drink tea from a cup in a hotel using the other side (lol) I never drink water in hotels. I wash my hands a million times before I get into the kitchen and I expect my maid to do likewise. Our dishes are scrubbed but after they are scrubbed they are washed one at a time. They are not kept in the sink after they are scrubbed. I can go on.................................

I think you are a teeny bit more fastidious than I am. I would stand in the bath and have my shower - no lying in it - and I also walk with my disinfectants.Dishes that are washed at night, I would re-wash in the morning. I wash my hands when necessary - but maybe I should do a bit more of it.

1. I never really thought too much about that one for some reason but I have. 2. No, no way i'll drive to a store and buy an expensive one before ever using anyone else's thats just ew to me. 3.I have used a friends hairbrush, lipstick and eye shadow before. 4. I won't even go in public lol even in school I'd just hold it or drive home because i hate public restrooms. 5. I usually will change unless all i've done is picked someone up and dropped them off.

I would never ever use someone's hair brush again in my life, except for my girls. The one time I used my husband's nieces brush I got head lice!! Worst thing I have ever had in my life. Ugh. I wash my hands a lot, especially while out and using the bathroom. I don't use anyone else's toothbrush. I won't eat or drink after anyone unless it's my husband or kids.

I feel the need to wash my hands after I threw the garbage away. But then, I'm not really afraid of dirt or germs. I wouldn't mind bathing in a bathtub that isn't mine, as long as the water is clean. I would only use the toothbrush of someone I know and trust, who has nice teeth perhaps. I wouldn't mind using someone else's makeup too, as long as their hair and face look fine. I sometimes avoid sitting on a public toilet if I don't think it's safe to do so, but that's all. And I won't immediately change my clothes once I get back home, unless I feel uncomfortable.

I wouldn't use anyone's toothbrush or makeup items. I will use the bath wherever I am. I use public washrooms if I am away from home all day. No public transport here, but I probably would sit on my furniture without changing

The first 3 no way not ever. The 4th I hover lol, or try to get home if it's possible. I also use tissue to open the public bathroom door, many don't wash their hands and the thought makes me want to puke lol. I always change my clothes when I get home.

Believe it or not , some people actually do not wash their hands after using the toilet for #1 - they don't think it's important - and those same hands open and close doors.
