Start a discussion and leave it forever! what an unkind behave it is..

I am sorry but i cant understand one thing here.
some people just start a discussion here and then they never go back to it.
hey come on ,if you ask a question or want other's thinkings,why dont you answer them back.
i saw at least 2 or 3 discussions like that,there were many responses under but starter of the topic wasnt there anymore.
i think if you start a question ,at least you should check it 2 or 3 times.
me personally i check all of my responses and try to give answers to all.
sure some responses are so short and i have nothing to say but seriously, without answering any response is liitle bit unkind to me.
what do you think about it?
do you check your discussion often and interact with other people?

I wouldn't stay here for 7 years if I don't interact. I'm not someone who often starts a discussion though. I rarely write a discussion here in a month but you will always see me around interacting with others and if I write my own, I make sure I replied to those who resounded with sense.

@japanesesamurai That's the essence of mylot and interaction was highly encouraged from the time this site started. We used to even talk in just one response. We have to read what others have responded before we could make our own.

People have different ways to interact... mostly people don't reply to their own discussions because they believe it would earn them less points, compared to commenting on other people's posts.

@japanesesamurai Yes it does happen many times. Some posters are like bloggers that write something and let people comment. It is much better to respond when we can and get discussions going.

i sometimes see there is no answer to any response so i am really suprised

Some people are very busy and may not have the time to go on right away and check on discussion activity after they post it. They may end up doing it days or weeks after. But perhaps the people you are speaking of are those that think to earn they have to post discussions and do nothing else...

Yes.. Its like abandoning.. If they are leaving it without any response. Then is it a discussion??

It is not good to leave the discussions like that, but I have seen many discussion get comments but no response to it. There may be many reasons. Here there is no rule that you must interact with each discussion of yours and more over members will work here happily whenever they have free time they will be here, it is just like a social media and discuss any topic

I think that's an unwritten obligation here. Personally, I honestly try my best to answer all the questions under my story, but there are times that I opt to leave some questions unanswered because its irrelevant to my story or most of the time there are questions that I really do not understand. But before I leave it unanswered I still try to clarify the question.. and if still the same... I just leave it unanswered

Once you get to see people doing it regularly then people stop responding g.on the other hand people may have work and will.come online then respond

I think if you start a topic here you should go back to it when someone comments on it..I have seen that as well on here..I don't understand the point.

I'm always surprised to see such, what's the point of creating a topic when you don't interact with those who responded to your discussion which is what mylot is all about. "Interaction".
