I ordered a new 4 gig chip for my Hp computer.

I had to order an additional 4 gigs of memory RAM for my HP Pavilion Desktop PC. It had originally 10 gigs of RAM and was running on only 6 gigs for a long time, but I figured, what the heck. I might as well go for it. It might be a week to 10 days before it comes but all I need to remember is to turn the power off, unplug it, purge the extra power by holding down the power button until the light in the back of the tower goes out. Then after removing the side panel, look for slot no. 3 and install the new chip. I might need to blow out some dust first however. I have canned compressed air I bought from a Walmart in electronics in a 4 pack. I hope it is still fresh in the cans as I haven't used them since I bought them over a year ago when I first tried to clean the tower out using only small paint brushes and a vacuum cleaner. I was told this was not a good idea to use a vacuum cleaner but it seemed to get out all those dust bunnies. Hopefully, the added RAM memory will help my old PC run more like a new one afterward.

so your 10gb running 6gb, means that 4gb chip had been faulty, you need to take out the faulty ones before you slot in the new ram, remember to turn off the power
