Be A Good Listener

If you know someone who is having a difficult time dealing with mental illness, you don't have to be the world's leading expert on how to treat it. And you don't have to have a lot of answers like a good therapist would either. Instead, in many cases, all you have to do is be a good listener if the individual wants to share his or her personal problems and mental health issues with you. Why? Because some people find that it's therapeutic just to be able to express how they feel to you without looking for answers and advice in return. So if you want to help someone, just be a good listener. It really can make a difference for them.

Those are very wise words, and it's something we should all do.

Have heard that through being a good listener, you are actually a better conversationalist.

Being a good listener is the answer to helping most people. They just want to tell their troubles to you.
