Last night I learned from TV that the American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology redefined the high blood pressure measurement as 80-130 mm Hg is already the high blood pressure. In the past this data is 90-140 mm Hg. I think now there will be more people have high blood pressure due to this change

I surely have not a problem with 60 - 95 mm Hg They did the same with cholesterol. May be the pharma companies want to sell more meds.

@LadyDuck Perhaps we just need to do the opposite like eating salty food so that our blood pressure may be a little higher and then it will become normal

I think mine is about 69-96 mm Hg and perhaps a little lower sometimes. Mine problem may be it is a little lower.

@youless Mine is also a little lower, but I prefer low than too high.

Mine will be okay then. To keep it down lessen the intake of salt.

@youless honestly I don't have complete belief and trust in Western medicine because it's run and controlled by giant pharmaceutical companies, it's one big business that they run so people will shell out hard earned money like " maintenance medicine" you are doomed for life to take it once you start it. I admire TCM or Chinese traditional medicine and other alternatives. People should be cured by medicine, not buy and take it forever

It will help younger individuals focus on lifestyle changes earlier before they develop worse styles of bad eating and lazy inactivity. I was always aware I had it and it was confirmed several years ago so now, thanks to the American diet, I am on Amlodipine Besylate 10mg every day because I waited too late in life to get into a proper lifestyle.

It seems today that high blood pressure has become to be a normal disease. Usually people will be fine when they take the medicine everyday.

Yes, I heard that. High blood pressure is a silent killer, so it's best keeping it lower than the original standards.

At least it will give more people warning to pay attention to it.
