How about some midweek saccharine for your listening and dining pleasure, in the form of another one of those bubblegum songs. Here's one you may not think of as "bubblegum," because we tend to think of that as a Caucasian music disease. Nope. Here's today's song.

"Beat It," this ain't! 
Yeah, you can put some soul in your bubblegum, but it's still bubblegum. And it's rather interesting that the Jackson Five were the first R&B act to actively explore being a "bubblegum" act. But oh, how they succeeded.
It took Michael a long time to break out of it (seriously, dude, singing a love song to a rat? [Theme from Ben.]), but he went from being the the prince of R&B bubblegum to the King of Pop. Sadly, he paid with his life.
