What are the things you add in your food for flavour but take it away while eating?

Like we use curry leaves, coriander leaves, mint leaves... for flavour in the food but take it away while eating... but they are very good for our health...
Tomatoes.. too...we add in the food... but refuse it while eating...
I think the things we refuse in the food have more nutritional values...
What's your say?

Sometimes I take away the bay leaves in a sauce or some fresh oregano in a soup.

@Teekaaa The oregano is edible. But sometimes I add a sprig of it to a soup. That, with some celery or parsil I take away for beauty reasons.

We use dried laurel or bay leaf especially for a popular Filipino dish called " adobo " but the leaf is not edible after using it.
