Mylotters, in April 2016, my former laptop had gotten a virus and had a lot of malware issues. And a pop-up window asked me to contact this Microsoft phone number. Little did I know I was scammed, since I couldn't get out of it, not by restarting my computer. So I contacted My Geek PC and they helped me stop the virus in time. Though I had to pay $100 for 3-months of security. I had to ask money from my dad and brother, since I didn't have the money at the time. This was before Paypal. Other than installing anti-virus, anti-malware, ad blockers and other free software, my former laptop ran fine.
Well, last night, when I did an online search, I had came across another computer scare for contacting Macintosh. They did a screen sharer and mentioned that there was malware, adware, etc., even from a broweri hijacker known as safe finders. Plus I had an issue with my firewall too. I was duped into buying a computer security package for a "lifetime", when I had to remove $300 from Paypal to pay for the service. But they charged me an extra $100 for licensing software like Mac Space Receiver for a lifetime deal. Other than they were Indian with imperfect English, I was frustrated and aggravated about being duped. They told me, if I called Apple Care, it would've been $700 for a one-time fix, when they would cheaper. I wished I had called My PCGeek last night and saved me some heartache and money.
I did ask to speak to the Supervisor and told me my dispute. I've looked this company online and told them that this was a scam. Other people complaind about them too. I wanted to cancel their services and my money back. Even the BBB had given them a F rating. Since I was charged for the wrong service, I would get $100 back as a refund. This morning, I looked up more of the complaints and called my bank to dispute my claim about being ripped off from them. I just talked to Huntington bank and told them about it. Although they canceled my savings debit card, they ordered me a new one and gave me a dispute case number for my claim. They're going to dispute my claim, and told me to let them know, if I do get refunded that $100 back. If not, I would get my money back from them. I don't want to be ripped off again.
This is so aggravating!

I almost got duped the same way about a year and a half ago. It was a redirect here at mylot. I kept getting the same scammy redirect so then I stopped using mylot on my computer. I get them all the time on my phone now though as from what I read around mylot these scammers are targeting mobile mylot users.

I hate it when people are greedy and feel the need to scare/scam people

@FayeHazel Me too. I would take the $300 over the $100 for sure.
