Is there a volcano near you? Have you experienced being in "Alert no. 2"? What will be the recommended preparations both physically and mentally?

One experience I had was when Mt. Pinatubo erupted here in the Philippines in 1990.

Fortunately we don't live close to any volcano so I've never experienced that.

Unlucky us. It's kinda funny because I'm not worrying about the volcano, but instead I'm worrying about the people who are in panic.

@cahaya1983 You got it right! Just like watching a horror movie. Instead of reacting to what you are watching, you reacti to the one beside you overreacting. LoL

@gibocam I understand, sometimes it's people's reaction that can make the situation more worrisome.

Were not close to any volcano but the Mt Pinatubo's ash went as far as our place.

Ashes? That's terrible. I can't imagine what will happen here if that's the case. It will feel like going out to evacuate but can't go out because of ashes.

No volcanoes near me. The nearest one in an island 200km away. However, we have earthquakes.

Earthquakes can be a traumatic experience too. You may not know where will it strike. It is truly better to be prepared always.

Oh, my... Never. But definitely it's something pretty hard.

Yes, indeed. People can't think well because of worrying too much where to go or what to do.

@TheInvisibleMan Yes. As always suggested not to panic but we may not know what will happen next.

There's no earthquake near my area but I've experienced being inside a shaking house during an earthquake. I was lying down while talking to my friend. I was talking to him and from my peripheral vision, I saw the walls of the housee shaking literally. It caused a little panic and I remember getting out of the house with fear. Maybe my advice would be never let panic overcome your emotions. We panicked but we still managed to go downstairs and stay in empty areas. Preparedness is a must so take earthquake precautions seriously

I am a calm person and I don't panic. I experienced an earthquake too but I stayed calm. The only thing I'm worrying about is what ways do I need to be prepared to lessen injuries and help others?
24 Nov 17
@gibocam well I don't know too but maybe it's better if you are knowledgable about first aid and the like. If you can protect yourself while also directing others with the right thing to do, the that's a good one too :)

Luckily we don't live near such places. I can understand how tough is to sleep near such place.

I live near Mt. Fuji but it is not likely to erupt any time soon. However, we could easily have a large earthquake, so I have all preparations for that. I know what table to go under, I have a bugout bag to grab (extra clothes, a face mask in case of lots of dust, gloves, a flashlight, emergency radio etc.) and I know where to go in case I have to get out of the house, to avoid falling objects.
